1992 Boyd Coddington Alumacoupe
I was in/out of the old Hot Rods by Boyd shops on a regular basis long ago. One of my personal favorite projects was the Larry Erickson designed Alumacoupe street rod that had a Mitsubishi engine rear mounted within. For many it was a love/hate with the car and its modernist styling — not everyone “got it”. I always loved it but I hated the Boyd yellow paint of the original and I always thought the body needed to be sectioned about two inches. Thus this is my rendition of this already 30-year old street rod. (It is amazing how fast time flies when looking back in life!)
