1957 Alfa Romeo 1900C SS EVO

The 1900 model was Alfa Romeo’s first all-new post-war model and featured a number of highly innovative features, including a unitary chassis and a twin-cam inline four-cylinder engine with hemispherical combustion chambers and aluminum-alloy cylinder head. Most examples were built as sedans, but a handful of special-bodied Sprint and Super Sprint coupes were built featuring stylish bodies.

This coupe is by Touring of Milan and utilized the coachbuilder’s famous Superleggera construction. Long ago these were regularly modified by enthusiasts before the prices skyrocketed. But if the prices hadn’t gone up — maybe an Evolution sort would have been built by someone? Modern Alfa 159 sedan wheels, revised roof, lowered and a few other minor drivetrain changes.
