Opel Kapitän Custom

Imagine growing up in the automobile scene of Los Angeles pre-WWII but then ending up in Europe given military service during the war and deciding to make it a career choice given the rebuild to take place in Germany. Of course you would never forgot the custom cars from California. Given your salary, the Opel Kapitän’s are cheap and somewhat similar to pre-war Fords — so you go acquire one and then start chopping, fattening up the convertible c-pillar, add skirts, get rid of the excess trim and lower it to emulate the vehicles back home in the USA. Single Appleton as dual’s came later. AB plates for American occupied Zone / Bavaria of course!
