1958 Jaguar XKSS Low Drag Coupe

1958 Jaguar XKSS Low Drag Coupe

Malcolm Sayer’s aerodynamic work at Jaguar was legendary given the C-Type, D-Type, E-type and more. What most did not realize was that there was one XKSS (an ex-D-type racer) that was converted to an aerodynamic “low drag” iteration with gullwing-style doors, stretched nose and a berlinetta coupe style roof structure to streamline through the air faster. Unfortunately Jaguar in 1957 withdrew from automobile racing and sold all their racecars to privateers. This prototype coupe ended up in a barn forgotten for several decades until its recent discovery… or at least to my own imagination. 😀
