1940 Mercury Fordor Custom

In memory of some old car guys from SoCal, I figured a 1940 Mercury Fordor 4-door modified pre-war custom style would honor them rightly. They always talked about the customs on the streets and from the dry lake speed events at El Mirage, Muroc, Harper and Rosamond before WWII. And important to them was the fact that these same cars would be used for daily driving and even weekend vacations with the family. (And they drove them during the war itself peeking out the mail slot window openings!) Thus I wanted the artwork image to look like it had been pinned to the bathroom wall in one of their fabrication shops for 50+ years as if a memory from fun days long before…
