1939 Aston Martin 2-Litre Speed Model Type C
By the middle of 1938, Aston Martin still had a number of 1936 Speed Model chassis that were unsold. In an effort to sell these remaining chassis, a new ‘modern’ all enveloping streamlined body was created within the workshops rather than utilize outside coachbuilders. The Type C turned out to be a genuinely quick car with a genuine 100 mph top speed with the 1949cc 4-cylinder engine. As expected I didn’t leave the Type C exactly stock… I just wanted the fenders and rear coachwork to have a more voluminous curvature in conjunction with a modern (courtesy of Morgan) twist upon wire wheels.
