Mini (BMW) Clubman Pro Touring

Mini (BMW) Clubman Pro Touring

A friend on this years Hot Rod Power Tour said to keep my eyes open as apparently V8 swaps into Mini’s are becoming popular. Basically enthusiasts are taking cheap Mini’s (front wheel drive!) and putting Chevy V8’s into them with a normal American transmission and then using a back-half (aftermarket) chassis kit to do the rear suspension / differential setup.

My first thoughts in styling were in the tradition of the drag racing Anglia’s and Thame’s wagons that terrorized drag racing for years — followed later by the Pinto / Vega station wagons. Thus here is my version of the Mini Clubman (3-door) with the 3rd rear door welded up and panels added to make it into a panel delivery. Open up the rear wheel wells (new fender flares) with big tubs inside but keep it looking factory. V8 swap it. COPO Camaro inspired hood scoop.

Mini donors to build this are cheap!
