Citroen SM
Citroen SM

The Citroen SM was a unique Grand Turismo vehicle with the combination of sophisticated Citroen suspension with an Italian Maserati v6 and with its modernist design by chief designer Robert Opron.

A friend sent me a link last night to Jay Leno given his Youtube channel and his showcasing of the Citroen SM. He asked me “what could I do with this”? I already had something I’d done in the past still in the unposted archive and decided to share it.

The reimagined version retains the design language of the original because if one opens the front hood on one of these with all the nitrogen/fluid, pumps and craziness within along with that Maserati engine — it is best not to muck with it! My version is as if a 2-seat only iteration and a bit more streamlined in a few of the panels along with a shorter wheelbase. I retained the rear glass hatch for economic reasons. Wheels would just be modern larger diameter iterations of the originals but machined from aluminum.

One used to be able to find these at times for cheap or free. The pricing has gone up quite a bit and a lot more difficult to find today.
