Alfa Romeo TZ1 Evolution

Alfa Romeo TZ1 Evolution

A TZ1 used most of the driveline parts from a standard production Alfa Romeo Giulia but instead of a unibody frame — these TZ1’s had a frame of tubular steel construction for more rigidity and lighter weight. Also given the bodies on these were made out of aluminum by Zagato to a KAMM-style aerodynamic shape, each one is unique in the series.

The cars were all built within the Autodelta (the racecar division)Would anyone in their right mind “outlaw” or Evolution-ize a real TZ1? Nope — TZ1’s are now a million dollar car in the collector world. But it is a car that someone could recreate themselves if they had experience in metal fabrication, machining and welding and a LOT of hours to do it!

The concept as shown utilizes modern Alfa 4C wheels/tires, GTV V6 engine, de Dion rear suspension and a few other newer Alfa Romeo parts within. Some of the lofting is changed, wheel openings changed, larger doors, revised nose and more. It isn’t an exact copy but an evolution of the original. CAD drawings are underway for the frame / suspension and then the coachwork will be created in CAD as well and “proofed” (1/6th scale) via 3D printing before the vehicle is built for a local enthusiast who owns a modern TZ3 already.
