1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Coupe

1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Coupe “custom”

The basis for this concept is a 1942 Alfa Romeo 6C 2500 SS Bertone Coupe that was originally designed by Mario Revelli di Beaumont (at Bertone) and is a one-off example.

My idea for this concept is what if someone like Harry Westergard (early legend of customizing) from Sacramento, California had gotten ahold of this Alfa Romeo and modified in his typical mid-1940s style? Thus a mild top chop, reshaped side windows, altered grille openings, relocated front bumper, adding side skirts, lowered and numerous other small details just to enhance that unique style of the original coachwork itself…

The custom / kustom world of traditional modifications isn’t only applicable to vehicles built and only from Detroit — it is just what was available to the early customizers and what they (and their customers) could afford.
